Family law for survivors of domestic violence issues include temporary Restraining Orders (TROs), divorce, legal separation or annulments, child or spousal support, custody and visitation orders, battered spouse waivers, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) enforcement, immigration issues faced by domestic violence survivors.

Bring all relevant papers to the appointment including proof of income or other financial documents, any documents related the problem, including notices or court papers, any other information that may be relevant or helpful to show to an attorney

Eligibility

Contra Costa County resident; Family law services are open to all survivors of domestic violence regardless of immigration status. Income eligibility must be met for legal advice line, however, services may be provided via the clinics; eligibility for legal services can be determined via the legal advice line.

Languages

English and Spanish, phone interpreters may be available for other languages.
